That's like saying...SOMEONE NEEDS TO COME OUT TO KANSAS. It's not gonna happen. LOL.
I wish someone would come visit. Havlow is supposed to call this week, his parents live in the same town and we're supposed to get to a workout together....hopefully.

Um panther, I do know something about the buyers. I have an entire company profile on them. The buyers aren't the problem. I've checked them out, they are a real, legit company operating in Japan. It is the IR registrar in Ireland that is the problem.

Hi vonkarolinas.
I'm a lawyer, have seen very very similar things to this before happen to good, trusting people. Turn the other way and run.
If you really think this deal is legit, I strongly advise you to seek legal advice.
These types of arrangements just scream 'scam'. I'm sorry. If you would like to send me a copy of the contract or other paperwork I would be more than happy to look at them for you.
As for it being an enforceable, legal contract - it would depend on the jurisdiction this agreement has been drafted. If it's been written up in Japan, you can't exactly seek legal recourse in the U.S. Feel free to PM or email me if you'd like me to look at this for you.

Wow, is this thread really still going on? I've been a sucker before and loaned my best friend $6000 and it ended with us not talking since.
No way Im shelling out this kind of cash for someone that I dont know. Ive seen scams like this in email plenty of times. If you are truely trying to take advantage of the christmas spirt and trying to pull one over on someone, all I can say is karma is a bitch. Just my .02

Hubby, Russ40 loves it when I put raisins in them......It adds a lot of carbs, but he is a raisin-a-holic.
No where in my EFL book does it say to add pancake mix.....is there a slightly different version somewhere else?

I found this recipe in the South Beach book, but it is very BFL friendly.
1 pkg (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach)
3/4 cups egg beaters
3/4 cup low fat shredded chedder cheese
1/4 cup diced green peppers (optional)
1/4 cup diced onions (optional)
3 drops of hot sauce (optional)
Microwave the spinach for 3 minutes. Drain excess liquid after cooking. Line a 12 cup muffin pan with foil baking cups and spray with PAM. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Evenly distribute into muffin cups. Back on 350 for 20 minutes.
2 muffins = 77 calories, 3g fat, 9g protein, 3g carb
I ate 6 of them for a meal and it was 231 calories, 9g fat, 27g protein, 9g carbs. It is a little lopsided in favor of protein, but thats ok with me sometimes.
They are really good and pretty easy to make. Let me know if you try them.
Stef :-)

My parents in their 60s.....They finally joined a new gym on their own which just opened a few days ago. I'm praying my dad does not injure himself while there, as he is the type that is all or nothing and may go in there and try to bench too much too soon. My dad is a heart attack waiting to happen and is a workaholic. My mom likes walking and yoga, but I'm trying to encourage her to start lifting weights. I think she is slowly "getting it." I would like nothing better than for my parents to feel better and stick around longer:)

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The exercise plan was hung by the weight set with care, in hopes that Bill Phillips soon would be there. The soon to be fit were all snug in their beds, While visions of tomorrows Upper-Body-Workout danced in their heads. My trainer in her leotard and I in my cap, were just sitting down with meal six in our lap. When out in the kitchen there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my dinner to see my house-guest getting fatter. Away to the bookstore I flew with a flash, no credit card today, I'm paying with cash. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature waist and eight abs did appear. With a slightly bold swagger, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment this book would do the trick. More rapid than eagles the workout plan came, and he whittled and scribbled a grocery shopping list. Now Chicken, now Turkey, now Green Lettuce Leafs, On wheat bread, On egg whites On cool protein shakes. To the top of the scale, to the top of the climbing wall, Now fat away, fat away fat away all! Merry Christmas to All, And to All a Body-for-LIFE

With family visiting this week, staying on plan did not happen. So much so, that I am debating whether to just start over on my 12 week challenge since I am only on week 4, or just chock it up as a REALLY, REALLY BAD week and keep on going?
Part of me just wants to start over, but then the other part of me asks if I am going to start over every time things don't go according to plan.
After sitting down and writing this, I think I am going to just keep on going.
Thoughts?
Brian

I went through the same thing over thanksgiving, so I decidedto add on a week rather than start over. Consider it a 13 wk challenge, chances are you'll make it habit, and a lifetime challenge anyhow.
Body for Life Forum Message by blemt (134 posts) at 09:20 AM
Rebooting is the thing that keeps most people from ever finishing a challenge. I sprained my knee, 4 weeks in back in October. I just finished the 12 weeks yesterday. Over, done, in the books.
I'm holding at 150, 24 percent BF. It's been a rough week at work. But I finished, and that's what matters.

I'm in Texas visiting my family and it is quite clear why so many people in my family have weight and health issues...
Ever since I got into town Dec. 16th, it's been shop, shop, shop and drive, drive, drive. I have been exhausted the entire time. Trying to be proactive when you are surrounded by people who are reactive is pretty tough. There have been numerous times when I assumed that a shopping trip would only last a couple of hours but the next thing I know we've been out for 6 hours and I'm starving! Then everyone wants to stop and grab a cheeseburger or fried chicken! And when we get back to the house the food choices are chips, candy, nuts and pizza!
I managed to borrow a car and buy some groceries and have been able to have about 2 or 3 meals a day that are BFL-compliant. But I'm really looking forward to going back to San Diego and being in control of my environment!
Here everyone is usually starving or binging! They are very careless about planning meals and the next thing you know they are bringing home pizza and there is no other food in the house for me to choose from! A couple of times I chose to not eat rather than eat high-fat food. Several times I've eaten protein bars when others were eating chocolate cream pies or chips! Since we are out in the country there aren't any GNC or similar stores within 30 miles and I don't have access to a car. Sheesh!
In the future I'm just going to make my visits shorter. However, I'll be back going back home to San Diego in a few days - ready to start my next challenge Jan. 2!!!
OK, I'm done! I just needed to vent my frustration. This trip has been a reminder that it's crucial to take charge of your environment and if you can't - change your environment! Everyone here keeps telling me how great it would be for me to move back to Texas and hang out with them all the time - but I don't think so! For me at least, it's better to have my own life with a bit of geographic distance...
OK gang! Let's gear up for the New Year and get rolling! I'm going to really kick butt (my own butt that is!) and finally get the rest of the weight off... I can hardly wait!
Jim

I know How you feel. Everyone in my family has weight issues and the same thing, get together at mom's house and nothing but chips, dip, cookies, and fast food. Luckly tonight I'm in charge it's going to be the BFL Chicken Parmagian for everyone!
Body for Life Forum Message by SimpleButterfly (283 posts) at 03:46 PM
Jim,
I know exactly what you mean! In the fall, I went to visit somebody and I was at a camp! I had told them ahead of time that I would bring my own food and was told not to do that...they would provide healthy choices! I should have gone with my instinct. For 4 days, I ate chips of some variety and drank beer...there wasn't even water available!
Connie
Body for Life Forum Message by sas (33 posts) at 05:25 PM
OmG! I know exactly how you feel. My family recently moved to from the city to the sticks and there is no place to get anything. When we visit, I always bring tons of protein bars and a bag of apples so that atleast my snacks are compliant and I can make the meals somewhat compliant. But the whole shopping thing kills me. It's really an addiction. I lived in the city my whole life and am a total minimalist, like you when I visit my family it's like go here go there for just crap. Ooh I love Guitargoddess's idea though, perhaps you can pick a night or two that you are incharge of dinner :-) good luck

Do you believe???
Do you believe in the spirit of Christmas?
Did you let the magic of this holiday soften your
heart and take it all in???
Did you give without expecting anything in return
and just bask in the joy of others receiving???
We had a special early delivery from Santa this year. A 15 month old golden retriever female puppy!! We adopted it from a rescue organization after an intensive search for the right fit. She is just beautiful and has made a fantastic transition! The best thing...my 16 yr old son, 12 yr old and 6 yr old daughters were absolutely speechless and fell in love with this beautiful creature!
What Christmas Magic has come your way this year???

thanks everyone for all the motivation! i appreciate it alot! i just wondered if anyone can tell me what a typical day is for you meal wise! do you all use the shakes or bars or do your own using carb/pro as one of the meals? thanks!
for the bread what type do you all use as the wheat bread? also in the book it suggests to have cottage cheese and yogurt together YUK i hate yogurt but love cottage cheese can i have just the cottage cheese? thanks agian happy holidays!
Body for Life Forum Message by LEC (8 posts) at 05:49 AM
When it comes to bread, please keep it in your mind that Bill Phillips only reluctantly approves even whole wheat bread.
Ezekial bread is my best bet!
Body for Life Forum Message by snowboardingfairy (166 posts) at 08:18 AM
JO-if you hate yogurt, eat an apple or some berries with your cottage cheese. I wouldn't recomend bannanas, as they are high in the glycemic index. Apples have more fiber.
Body for Life Forum Message by Just~Josh (38 posts) at 10:29 AM
Not saying this is perfect, approved, etc, but this is what I eat:
bfast-- eggbeaters, 2pc canadian bacon, 2pc WW toast, with fat free cheese.
brunch-- myoplex shake, or cott cheese with carb-clever fruit, half a can.
lunch-- a leftover-dinner packed from night before, or a turkey sandwich.
tea-- same as brunch
dinner-- my great wife makes some healthy meals, maybe salmon, rice and brocoli
pre-bedtime-- usually cereal, I mix a little cracklin oat bran w/ Kashi go-lean; with soy milk.
Hope this helps, I know it isn't perfect, but it's where I'm at right now! :-) good luck
